Hello everyone,
Since it’s April and I just finished my studio courses, I felt the urge to do some deep cleaning. Possibly because whenever I paint in my room itĀ becomesĀ a huge mess? Definitely not.
Anyways, my room had been renovated last year, opening up the closet to create a little desk nook. I decorated those walls with what I had decorated my walls with in Toronto, basically some old drawings and process notes. The idea was to paste whatever sketches I was working on on the wall, so I could work on my current projects without having papers everywhere. It didn’t really work.
It looks alright, I guess, but I was sick of it. So I took it down, scrubbed the walls, and tried this tutorial, which looked ridiculous. At this point I was out of ideas, and the blank wall looked a bit funny, so I put up some photos and cards from friends.
Now it looks like this. I don’t really know if I like it or not. I think I’ll keep it up for a bit and see. I put the photos up with masking tape, in case anyone is interested. I’ve been doing that for years and I never mark up the walls. I should mention that the group of photos looks much more centred in real life than in this photo.
I recently got Instagram (username is Saraandcompanyy, yes with two “y”s), so maybe when I have enough photos, I’ll replace this with an Instagram wall sort of like this one, although it seems to require a lot more patience than I have. I never thought I would get Instagram and then my friend Josh piqued my interest and I caved. It’s sort of fun in a really dorky way.
Also, I got a contact form message from a anonymous person directing me to a Kijiji ad with a bunch of old cameras. I’m going to get them today, so thanks a lot! I may put those up on the wall instead.
And before I go, have you guys read this article yet? It’s freaky, and it’s a big reason why I don’t have a Facebook.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day.
